PI label is a high-temperature resistant special marking material made from polyimide film as the substrate, widely used in industrial fields such as electronics, automotive, aerospace, and more.
It possesses the following core characteristics:
High temperature resistance: It can operate stably for extended periods in an environment ranging from -269℃ to +300℃, withstand short-term temperatures up to 400℃, and some products can even withstand instantaneous high temperatures exceeding 500℃.
Chemical resistance: It can resist the erosion of flux, fluxing agents, acid and alkali solvents, grease, etc., and is suitable for harsh processes such as SMT reflow soldering and wave soldering.
High insulation and wear resistance: With excellent electrical insulation properties and mechanical strength, it is suitable for marking key areas such as PCB boards, lithium batteries, and engine components.
High readability of barcodes: Supporting thermal transfer printing, they remain clear and readable even with small fonts or after exposure to high temperatures, ensuring the accuracy of production traceability.
Common thicknesses are 25μm and 50μm, and the color is mostly black or white. It is also known as "PI high temperature label" or "polyimide label". Its adhesive typically uses high temperature resistant acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive, and the substrate is release paper or PET release film.
The main application scenarios include:
Electronic manufacturing: used for process identification in SMT processes for PCB boards, IC chips, mobile phone batteries, etc;
Automotive industry: asset tracing in high-temperature oil and dirt environments of engine and chassis metal parts;
New energy: lithium battery cell label, resistant to electrolyte corrosion;
Aerospace: Long-term identification of spacecraft components under extreme temperature differences.
